My ‘Cowrie Collection’ is inspired by a special jar of cowrie shells that my grandmother had collected on family holidays over many years. This jar was passed onto my mother who added to the collection before handing it down to me to continue the tradition.

These shells are so small they often trap grains of sand in the small opening. I’ve replicated these grains of sand using tiny grains of 18ct gold. The shells a cast in solid sterling silver with an oxidized, polished outer surface to bring out the textured detail.

This is one of my earliest and most loved collections, with both leaf rings and bangles realised in sterling silver with organic furling or unfurling forms.

My leaf rings typically measure approximately 10-12mm wide, but may be crafted narrower by request if you like the design but are looking for something more delicate.

The ‘Mussel Collection’ was inspired by some miniature mussel shells I found whilst exploring a rocky Cornish beach.

The mussel's external shell is composed of two hinged halves or ‘valves’. I have taken these tiny natural forms and replicated them by creating a mould of each half into which hot silver is poured to form solid shell-shaped casts. These are then filed and prepared before being soldered together to reawaken the delicate combined forms in sterling silver. Pieces are finished with an oxidized, polished outer surface to bring out the textured detail and the protected inner may be realised in either 18ct gold plating or pale turquoise enamel.

The snowdrop is one of my favourite native plants; a shy, pretty flower with a hanging head, which bravely withstands the cold winter and early spring British weather. In my ‘Snowdrop Collection’ this unassuming spring bloom takes on various classic stylised forms in sterling silver.

Being handcrafted, each pair of hook earrings and charming snowdrop rings are very slightly different, with each flower head hallmarked with my registered ‘makers mark’ and traditional UK hallmarks. My snowdrop rings look great worn individually or in pairs to create a statement.

My collection of sea urchins was originally gathered as a keepsake from a childhood family holiday and sat on a mantel piece for nearly 20 years, lined up like Russian dolls. It was the smallest of these that went on to inspire my delicate sterling silver ‘Urchin Collection’.

Everyone seems to love the sea urchins' aesthetically pleasing natural form and here it has been replicated by creating a mould of the original shell and casting it in solid silver to capture its memory forever. Each of these tiny silver forms is then turned into a beautiful yet durable piece of jewellery using different surface finishes such as pale turquoise enamel, oxidized silver and 18ct rose gold plating.
